DCians, Trivandrum volunteered at Special Olympics as part of CSR activity

Dcians, Trivandrum in association with E&Y volunteered the mega event ‘Ekata’ on 12th and 14th January 2018 at the Lakshmibai National College of Physical Education (LNCPE). The event was organised by the joint collaboration of the National Charitable Trust and the Special Olympics Bharat- Kerala Chapter. The three-day programme was inaugurated on Thursday in the presence of the Member of Parliament, Mr Shashi Tharoor. More than 22000 athletes and 5000 coaches from 14 districts participated to celebrate 50 years of the Special Olympics programme.

Placement training for MBA 16-18 conducted at DCSMAT, Trivandrum

A three day training program was organized for the students of MBA 16-18 as part of the placement policy on 10th, 11th and 12th January 2018. The sessions were handled by Mr. Geevarghese, Mr. Vaisakh, Mr. Josho & Mr. Georgee from Walnut Group, Kottayam. Training contents included logical reasoning, verbal ability, quantitative aptitude, soft skills, mock interview, resume writing, and group discussion

60th Annual NASA Convention at DCSMAT Vagamon

DC School of Architecture and Design is proud to host the 60th Annual NASA Convention. The 5 day event commences on 29th January 2018, in the hills of Vagamon, Kerala. The event is expected to be attended by 3500 delegates from PAN India and other SAARC countries. The formal events comprise of talk series and an array of workshops throughout the days of the event. The talks would be by 2 renowned international architects, in addition to other experts in the field. The workshops, 30 in all, includes those on sculpting, sketching, software and hands-on work. An exhibition will be held on the final day of the event. The winners of the LIK trophy and the ANDC competition will be judged by the eminent architects present for the event. The informal activities and games will be conducted simultaneously, engaging the participation of the crowd. The cultural events to be held during the evenings of the event will include a band performance, stand-up comedy and a DJ night. Moreover, cultural programmes by participating colleges such as dance competitions, theme show and the battle of bands will also be held on these cultural nights.

Sad day for DCSMAT group of Institutions

We regret to announce the demise of the Chairman of DCSMAT Governing Council, Professor M. V. Pylee on Saturday, 30th December 2017.

Prof. Pylee, a distinguished educationist was the third Vice Chancellor of the Cochin University of Science and Technology, and founder director of the School of Management Studies at the University. He was a well-known authority on the Constitution of India, a pioneer in management education and an eminent administrator. Prof. Pylee had taught at the universities of Lucknow, Patna, Delhi, Kerala and Cochin and was a Director on the Faculty of the Administrative Staff College of India, Hyderabad. He was awarded Padmabhushan in 2006 by Government of India for his contributions to the fields of education and management.

Prof. Pylee was actively involved with DCSMAT Group of Institutions as the Chairman of the Governing Council, guiding the institution through the various stages of its growth. During the initial years, he would personally come to the campus, and interact with students and faculty members, engaging these stakeholders in institution building.

The students, staff and management of DCSMAT Group of Institutions fondly remember this guiding force and will truly miss this luminary and the hand – holding we received all these years.

The Preconvention meeting for Annual NASA CONVENTION 2018 to be held on 28th Jan

The Preconvention meeting for Annual NASA CONVENTION 2018 will be conducted in DC SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN from 28th to 30th of December 2017. The meeting will be attended by all the unit secretaries and designees of 100 Architecture colleges all over India. Along with them the council members of NASA India will deliberate on the successful conduct of the 60th Annual NASA CONVENTION to be conducted from 29th of January to 2nd of February.

Youth urged to come forward against corruption

Transparency International India Unit was formally inaugurated by the DGP Shri.Lokanath Behra IPS at 10am in DCSMAT Vagamon campus. He addressed the audience and spoke and about the responsibility of our youth in the country to come forward to fight against the corruption in the society.
He inspired through his speech with his own experience in his course of life and certain practical remedial solutions were highlighted for the benefit of the ideal society without any tangle of corruption.
He conveyed that the first and foremost thing for the removal of corruption and scam is to change the basic temperament of the people willing to give bribe. He referred to ethical and professional quality of dealing in the society. He answered to the relevant questions arised from the students of DCSMAT.
